The Vermilion police Explorer Post was started back in the early 1980's Police Explorers are a part of the learning

for life program of the Boy Scouts Of America.

New members are accepted in the Spring and Fall. Any youth, male or female, between the ages of 14-20 can join.

They must have a clean police record and  maintain a "c" average in school. Explorers learn about the Police Department,

simulated firearms training, accident investigation, fingerprinting, crime scene investigation and self defense tactics.

We currently meet twice a month on Sunday nights. We presently have 5 youths  involved in the post. Chief Kish is

the executive advisor for the post. If you are interested in becoming an explorer, please contact the Police Department
