Officers responded to Niagara Road for a report of a fight in the street. Upon arrival, Ptl. Howell located two females walking on Niagara Road. They were asked about the reported fight and one of the female subjects, identified as Amber Suppa (age 19 Vermilion), stated that she had been having an argument with her boyfriend. Suppa advised her boyfriend left the area. While speaking to Suppa, Ptl. Howell was able to smell an odor of alcoholic beverage on her breath. She consented to a portable breath test with a .071 BAC obtained. Suppa was charged with Underage Consumption.

 

0905:

Ptl. Terry took a report for a vehicle entry on Guilford Road. The complainant advised that nothing was taken from the vehicle. The vehicle was dusted for fingerprints. Under investigation.

 

1049:

Ptl. Graham was took a report reference a motor vehicle accident on Route 2. Both parties involved exchanged information.

 

1055:

Ptl. Terry took a report for a vehicle entry on Hazelwood Avenue. Upon arrival, Ptl. Terry met with the complainant and three other neighbors also reporting vehicle entries. No items were missing from the vehicles. Under investigation.

 

1155:

Ptl. Holmes and an operator were on patrol on Lake Erie in the Vermilion Harbor Patrol Boat. While on patrol, five kayaks were observed paddling along the shore without life vests. The overhead lights and siren was activated and all of the operators were called to the boat. Four of the operators complied, but one paddled quickly away and continued to ignore the audible and visible signals. The suspect quickly beached the kayak and took off running. Road unit Ptl. Terry was given the description and location of the male. Ptl. Terry arrived on scene and quickly began a foot pursuit of the suspect through the woods and along the railroad tracks. Ptl. Terry caught up with the suspect and identified him as Robert Gump III (age 51, Hudson). A citizen called in and advised that Gump had thrown down beer as he was running. Ptl. Terry located the beer and then transported Gump to the station. While on station Gump stated that he did see the lights and heard the siren from #850 and also heard the officer yelling at him to stop. Gump stated that he did not want to take a breath test because he felt he would be over the legal limit and also stated that he had the beer with him in the kayak. Gump was charged with Failure to comply/fleeing, Boating under the influence, Operating the kayak without a sound producing device, and Obstructing Official Business.

 

1334:

Ptl. Mis took a report from a resident on Delamere Road for a vehicle entry. Under investigation.

 

1506:

Ptl. Graham was dispatched to 1665 North Ridge Road reference a property dispute. Ptl. Graham was unable to make contact with the suspect. The complainant was referred to the prosecutor for charges.

 

1842:

Cpl. Grassnig met with a subject reference several items located in his backyard that appeared to be stolen. Under investigation.

 

August 2, 2009

 

0127: 

Ptl. Jones received information about a subject that was driving around the city in a stolen vehicle. The complainant said that her brother, Gerald Sexton (age 51 Cleveland), had been on a violent rampage and recently left his their cousin’s house in Vermilion after destroying his own house. The suspect’s information and the vehicle description was obtained and all units were advised to be on the look out.

While on patrol later that night, Ptl. Jones observed the vehicle traveling westbound on Liberty Avenue. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Gerald Sexton. After receiving confirmation that the vehicle was stolen, Sexton was charged with Receiving Stolen Property F4 and was transported to the Lorain County Jail for failure to post bond.

 

0321:

Ptl. Cundari was dispatched to SR 60 at Haber Road in response to an intoxicated male undressing in the middle of the roadway. Upon arrival a vehicle was in the roadway with its flashers on and a clothed male was observed stumbling on the sidewalk. The male was identified as Brian Kerpics (age 21 Vermilion) and was extremely intoxicated. At one time Kerpics stated that he had been drinking Bud Light all night. Kerpics was charged with disorderly conduct by intoxication and was released to a sober party.

 

0710:

Dispatch received a call from Martino’s International Café reporting a domestic in progress. It was also reported that the male involved took off running east towards Giant Eagle. Ptl. Terry and Ptl. Cundari checked the area for the male and Ptl. Mis went to the restaurant to speak the caller. The male and female were both located and neither wanted to file any charges.

 

1135:

Ptl. Terry was dispatched to a residence on Ohio Street reference a vandalism complaint. Under investigation.

 

2312:

While conducting patrol in the 4800 block of Liberty Avenue, Ptl. Howell observed a juvenile male riding his bicycle in the middle of Liberty Avenue. The juvenile male also weaved across three lanes of traffic. A traffic stop was initiated on Nantucket Place and the juvenile male was identified as Forest O’Keefe (age 16 Vermilion). O’Keefe was asked if he had anything illegal on his person and produced a small piece of loose marijuana. A check of his right pocked revealed numerous pieces of marijuana. O’keefe was charged with Possession of Marijuana and was released to his mother.

0120:

Officers were dispatched to the area of Ferndale Road and Virginia Drive for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Ptl. Howell located and the driver was identified as Joseph Biagi (age 24 Lorain). A check through Leads revealed that Biagi’s driver’s license had fourteen open suspensions. Biagi was handcuffed, searched, and placed in the rear of cruiser 801. The female passenger, Ginny Lynn Guest was asked to exit the vehicle. After exiting, Guest went back to the vehicle to get her purse. Ptl. Howell asked her if he could check her purse for any weapons and she said it was ok. Upon opening the purse, Ptl. Howell observed four white pills (IBU 800) wrapped in plastic, one small round orange pill with a New York Yankee design on one side, and four red capsules (Forest 0372 Esgic Plus). When asked about these pills, Guest advised she had a prescription for the white and red pills but was unable to provide the names and/or a prescription for them. Guest advised the orange pill was ecstasy. Guest also had one plastic baggie containing marijuana concealed in her bra.

Biagi was charged with Driving Under Suspension (3rd offense) and was released on 10% bond. Guest was charged with Aggravated Possession of Drugs F5, two counts of Possession of Drugs, and Possession of Marijuana. She was released after posting a surety bond.

 

1400:

Ptl. Shupe responded to a residence on Claus Road to take a stolen bicycle report. The bicycle was described as a 19” Mens Hurricane Charcoal Gray in color. The bicycle also had a galvanized luggage rack on the back. Under investigation.

 

2008:

Ptl. Jones met with a complainant at her residence reference her son, Travis Bonnett (age 19 Vermilion), damaging her property. The complainant advised that she and her son got into an verbal argument and Travis became so angry that he smashed her cell phone and a window. Bonnett left the residence on foot and was unable to locate. Charges were signed for criminal mischief. Later that evening, Bonnett turned himself in and was released on a personal bond.

 

August 4, 2009

 

0125:

Ptl. Holmes was on patrol in the area of West River Road and Beechview Drive and observed three males walking down the middle of the road. Ptl. Holmes advised the subjects that he wanted to conduct a pat down of each subject for officer safety. Two of the males checked ok. The other male, Samuel Kokoska (age 18 Vermilion), was in possession of a drug pipe commonly used to smoke marijuana also known as a “bowl”. Kokoska was charged with Drug Paraphernalia and was released on a personal bond.

 

0217:

Two bicycles were located in the B.P. parking lot. The bicycles are described as a purple “Next” 18 speed 24” Power Climber mountain bike and a blue 20” Up Roar Bmx style with yellow front forks.

 

1212:

Ptl. Shupe was dispatched to a residence on Jackson Street reference domestic violence. Ptl. Shupe met with the female party and she advised her boyfriend left on foot and was threatening suicide. The male party was later located by Sgt. Davis and was taken to the hospital for a psychological evaluation.

 

1903:

Ptl. Jones met with a complainant on station reference her son being teased by another child. The complainant advised her son got into a pinching/tickling game with friend and several marks were left. The complainant wanted a report incase an incident would happen in the future against her son.

 

1951:

Sgt. Chandler took a report for a stolen bicycle from Douglas Street. The bicycle was described as a purple 18 speed 26” Next mountain bike. Under investigation.

 

2023:

Ptl. Jones met with a complainant on South Shore Court reference his son getting bit by a neighbor’s dog. Ptl. Jones met with the complainant and the dog owner and both agreed to work everything out.

 

August 5, 2009

 

0131:

While on patrol on Lexington Drive, Ptl. Holmes observed a vehicle with its interior light on parked in the street. Ptl. Holmes was unable to see the driver at first as she was slumped over while texting on her cell phone. As Ptl. Holmes was making contact with the driver Katherine Swinehart (age 17 Vermilion), he detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the interior of the vehicle and about Swinehart’s person. Swinehart advised she was waiting for a friend to come and pick her up.  Swinehart was given a portable breath test and gave a positive test. Swinehart was charged with Underage Consumption and was released to her parents. Ptl. Holmes spoke briefly to Swinehart regarding the OVI and Physical Control laws, but also advised her that he was not pursuing those charges as she did not have keys for the vehicle.

 

1103:

Ptl. Graham and Sgt. Davis were dispatched to Harcourt reference a physical altercation. Upon arrival units met with the complainant and he stated that he stayed the night at his soon to be ex wife’s residence. The next day his soon to be ex-wife’s brother came over to his soon to be ex-wife’s house and started to “chest bump” him and grabbed his head. The complainant then advised the soon to be ex wife’s brother began to push his soon to be ex-wife and started calling her names. Ptl. Graham spoke to the brother and he advised the complainant attacked him. Due to conflicting stories, officers were unable to determine the primary aggressor. All parties were advised to contact the prosecutor reference any charges to be filed.

 

1114:

Lt. Labis was investigation an accident and found that the driver of unit one, Philip Smith (age 18 Vermilion), was under a non compliance suspension for Failure to Reinstate. Smith was also under several other suspensions through the Lorain County Juvenile Court. Smith was issued a citation for Driving Under Suspension.

 

1738: 

Ptl. Graham met with a complainant at Domino’s Pizza reference a missing camera. The complainant advised he forgot his digital camera on a concrete block behind Domino’s and when he returned forty-five minutes later it was gone. The camera is a silver traveler and was in a black carrying case.

 

1907:

All units along with the Vermilion Fire department were dispatched to Kendra Screen Printing for a house fire.

Ptl. Reising met with a complainant on station reference a sexual offense. Under investigation.

 

1514:

Ptl. Graham was dispatched to the VOL Club House reference a fire. Ptl. Graham met with the care taker and he advised that someone went into the basement and lit a rag on fire. Under investigation.

 

1849:

Ptl. Graham was dispatched to the VOL bridge for Graffiti. Ptl. Graham observed several different markings. Under investigation.

 

2059:

Ptl. Graham was dispatched to Nantucket Drive reference unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Ptl. Graham met with the complainant, Leonard Taylor, and he stated that he loaned his car to his daughter and she will not return it. Ptl. Graham was unable to make contact with Mr. Taylor’s daughter at this time.

 

August 7, 2009:

 

 

1840:

Ptl. Holmes was dispatched to a residence on Fairfax Road to assist the Nord Center with psychiatric patient. The subject was eventually transported to the hospital for an evaluation.

 

2043: 

Ptl. Spoores met with Ramona and Eugene Billings reference threatening phone calls from Ramona’s son Clint Hill (age 28 Toledo). The complainants stated that Hill called and threatened to assault them. Ramona Billings met with Ptl. Spoores on station and signed a Menacing Charge against Clint Hill. Hill has not been served yet.

 

2355:

Ptl. Spoores was flagged down by a subject walking on Main Street. The male was not wearing a shirt and appeared to be wet. Ptl. Spoores made contact with the subject and immediately recognized the male as Brian Kindrick (age 33 Vermilion). Earlier in the shift, Ptl. Spoores had given Kindrick a courtesy ride to a friend’s house on Nantucket, as he was walking down the sidewalk intoxicated. When dropped off at his friend’s, Kindrick assured Ptl. Spoores that he would be spending the night there. While speaking to Kindrick, Ptl. Spoores observed several cuts up his left arm and was also bleeding from his hands and feet. When asked about his injuries, Kindrick stated that he swam across the river and crawled up the bank. Kindrick was placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct by Intoxication and taken to his mother’s house.

 

August 8, 2009

 

0335:

Dispatch received a report of a possible drunk driver leaving Speedway after supposedly throwing nachos around and arguing with the clerk. Ptl. Spoores located the vehicle as it was pulling into Rite Aid. While pulling up, the driver got out of the vehicle and switched seats with the passenger and then they attempted to pull away. Ptl. Spoores activated his over head lights and made contact with the new driver and the new passenger. The original driver, Kayleigh Borden ( age 21 Sandusky) was asked to exit the vehicle to perform some field sobriety tests. Borden was extremely unsteady on her feet as she got out. The field sobriety tests were given and Borden was placed under arrest for OVI and was taken to the station where she gave a breath sample of .158 grams of alcohol per 210 liters of breath. Borden was also charged with driving under suspension as she has several open suspensions. Borden was released to a friend.

 

0414:

While on patrol in the area of Ferndale Road, Ptl. Holmes observed a vehicle parked at an odd angle near the parking lot for Lakeview Baptist. The vehicle was almost blocking the entrance and was also running with the high beam headlights activated. Ptl. Holmes stopped to investigate the suspicious conditions. Ptl. Holmes approached the vehicle and observed that a subject was sitting in the driver’s seat sleeping. The driver’s seat window was down and a very strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was coming from interior of the vehicle and about the subject’s person. Ptl. Holmes had to shake the subject several times before the subject finally woke up. The male was identified as Daniel Engel (age 24 Lorain) and he was asked to exit the vehicle. Engel was extremely unsteady on his feet and was confused as to what he was doing or where he was coming from. After performing the standardized field sobriety tests, Engel was placed under arrest for having physical control of a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and was taken to the station for the Intoxilyzer 5000 breath test. While on station, Engel gave a breath sample reading of .165 grams of alcohol per 210 liters of breath. Engel was issued a citation for Physical Control and was released to his mother.

 

1219:

Cpl. Riggs met with a subject on station reference money taken out of her husband’s checking account over the internet. Under investigation.

 

1903:

Ptl. Holmes was dispatched to the Vermilion City Boat Ramp for a sick Canadian goose. The goose could not walk and appeared very sick. It also appeared that the goose had been in the same location for some time. Ptl. Holmes dispatched the goose with a shot from his service weapon to put it out of its misery.

 

2107:

Ptl. Holmes observed a truck traveling over the posted speed limit while on patrol on West River Road and conducted a traffic stop. Ptl. Holmes made contact with the driver, James Kees (age 44 Lorain) and advised Kees for the reason of the traffic stop. While speaking to Kees, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was coming from the interior of the vehicle and about Kees’ person. Kees eyes were also bloodshot and his speech sounded slurred. Kees was then asked to step out of the vehicle so that Ptl. Holmes could give him the standardized field sobriety tests. Based on the tests, Kees was placed under arrest for OVI, handcuffed, and then searched. While searching Kees, Ptl. Holmes located a plastic baggie containing marijuana. Kees was taken to the station for processing. There Kees submitted to a Intoxilyzer 5000 breath test giving a breath sample of .211 grams of alcohol per 210 liters of breath. Also, while on station a wooden “dug out” that contained a marijuana pipe and a small amount of marijuana was located. Kees was charged with OVI (1st offense 6 years, 3rd offense in 20 years), Prohibited Concentration, Speed, Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Marijuana.

Cpl. Riggs was doing a building check for a residence on Haber Road and noticed that the side door was kicked in. Under Investigation.

 

0923:

Ptl. Jenkins was dispatched to a residence on Hollyview Drive for a physical domestic between husband and wife. Upon arrival Ptl. Jenkins met with the male subject involved and it was learned that when he was trying to leave his wife started to pinch him, scratch him, and then slapped him giving him a fat lip. The husband then advised that his wife picked up a hammer and threatened to hit him with it and then broke his cell phone. Ptl. Jenkins then spoke to the female party and she made no statements, neither confirming nor denying the events. She did state that her husband bent her left pinkie finger and slapped her on her upper right arm. Both parties declined charges.

 

1322:

Ptl. Reising was dispatched to Ohio Street for a traffic crash. Katie Brumenschenkle stated that someone backed into her car while it was parked on Ohio Street. Brumenschekle made contact with the other driver and an claim was filed with their insurance companies.

0120:

Units were dispatched to a residence on Niagara Road reference a suicidal male. Upon arrival, Sgt. Chandler made contact with the male. The male was extremely intoxicated and depressed. It was decided that the male should go to the hospital for an evaluation.

 

0158:

Units were dispatched to a residence on Morton Road for a possible overdose. Units arrived on scene and found a female incoherent. The female advised that she had taken three bottles worth of prescription medications in an attempt to commit suicide. The female was taken to the hospital for an evaluation and her two juvenile children were picked up by their grandparents.

 

0700:

Bicycle found in front yard at a residence on Exchange Street. The bike is a Trick Chic Mongoose, BMX type, Lavender in color with four foot pegs. The bicycle was taken to the garage for storage.

 

0857:

The Vermilion Fire Department was toned out to assist with a rollover/gas leak on Route 2 between Oak Point Road and Baumhart Road.

 

1458:

Ptl. Graham met with Main Street resident on station reference an ongoing neighbor dispute. The complainant stated that his neighbors often stare at his family and have make several threats and called them derogatory names. The complainant did not want an officer to contact the neighbor, but requested a report incase the situation escalates.

 

2035:

Ptl. Howell responded to a report of a breaking and entering in the 4100 block of Firestone Lane. Under investigation.

 

2254:

Ptl. Howell was dispatched to the 6000 block of Liberty Ave for a report of a male subject acting strange. The complainant advised the subject would walk in the road and then move to the sidewalk. The male subject was also reportedly walking into yards and waving his arms. Ptl. Howell located the subject and as soon as the male saw him, he began walking and tossed a small white object on the ground. Ptl. Howell made contact with the male and identified him as Brian Kerpics (21 Vermilion). While speaking to Kerpics, Ptl. Howell was able to detect an odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath. His speech was also slurred and he was unsteady on his feet. Kerpics stated he was coming from the Wayside Inn and when asked how much he had to drink, Kerpics responded with “six”.

Ptl. Howell retrieved the small white object that Kerpics tossed on the ground. The object was a white plastic prescription bottle containing 90 pills. Kerpics name was not on the prescription bottle. At first Kerpics denied having the pill bottle, but eventually told Ptl. Howell that he had removed them from a mailbox on Liberty Avenue.

Kerpics also had two prior misdemeanor criminal cases with the Vermilion Municipal Court and was under probation. Kerpics was charged with Theft of Dangerous Drugs F4, Probation Violation M1, and Disorderly Conduct while Intoxicated and was transported to the Erie County Jail for failure to post bond.

0810:

Cpl. Gleason met with a complainant reference harassing phone calls from the complainant’s ex-husbands girlfriend. The ex-husbands girlfriend was advised by the ex-husband to stop calling the complainant.

 

1233:

Ptl. Graham met with a female on station reference a fraud complainant. The complainant advised that her ex-boyfriend had Dish TV activated in their home with the understanding that he would pay the bill from his account. The complainant moved and later found out that the account was put in her name and that her ex-boyfriend signed her name to the receipt. Ptl. Graham has not been able to contact the ex-boyfriend at this time.

 

1251:

A bicycle was stolen from an apartment on Salem Drive. The bicycle is described as a dark maroon Dr. Pepper 26 inch mountain bike.

 

1437:

Cpl. Mayer met with a male reference a threatening voicemail. Cpl. Mayer listened to the voicemail and there were several threats made towards the complainant. The complainant was advised to contact the prosecutor for possible charges. Cpl. Mayer was unable to make contact with the suspect.

                                                                                          

1908:

Ptl. Howell responded to 3885 Jerusalem Road for a report of a dog bite. Ptl. Howell met with Kathy Wallace (age 53 Vermilion) who stated that her dog approached a male neighbor and bit him in the leg. Wallace was charged with Dog at Large M4 and was released on scene.

 

2129:

While Ptl. Cundari was traveling westbound on Liberty Avenue in the area of Ewa Yea, the vehicle behind Ptl. Cundari did not have two working headlights. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver was identified as Joe Alcala (age 26 Vermilion). Alcala failed to provide identification  and insurance. Alcala said that his license was suspended. A check through the system indicated that Alcala had four open suspensions. Alcala was cited for Driving Under Suspension and a Headlight Violation. The owner of the vehicle was given a verbal warning for Wrongful Entrustment. 

 

August 12, 2009

 

0416:

Ptl. Howell ran a check of a vehicle’s temporary plate while in the Speedway parking lot. The check revealed that the vehicle owner had an active warrant from the North Olmsted Police Department for an alcohol related offense. A check through BMV imaging produced a photo of the owner identified as Adam Shuey (age 20 Sheffield Lake). Shuey was observed in the vehicle and inside Speedway. North Olmsted Police Department confirmed the warrant and advised they would pick Shuey up if located. The vehicle was stopped on Liberty Avenue near South Shore Court and contact was made with the driver, Adam Shuey. Shuey was handcuffed, searched, and placed in the rear of patrol cruiser 801. The two other occupants Bradley Griffin (age 20 Sheffield Lake) and Nicholas Jones (age 25 Cleveland) also had active warrants. Griffin had a warrant from North Olmsted Police Department for an alcoholic related offense and Jones had a warrant from Elyria Police Department for a Larceny offense. While speaking to Griffin Ptl. Howell detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. Griffin admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages earlier in the evening. Griffin also submitted to a portable breath test giving a BAC of .05. Shuey was released to North Olmsted Police Department. Jones was released to Elyria Police Department, and Griffin was charged with underage consumption, given a personal bond, and then also released to North Olmsted Police Department.

 

0850:

Ptl. Jones spoke with a resident on Elberta Road reference a theft complaint. The complainant advised that his van was entered and an Indians jacket and binoculars were taken. He further advised that two Johnson Outboard boat engines were taken. One was outside near the garage and the other was inside the garage. Under investigation.

 

1830:

While stopped at the traffic light on Liberty Avenue at Sandusky Street, Ptl. Shupe observed a vehicle travel through the red light into the intersection of Sandusky Street and Liberty Avenue. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Paul Allen (age 53 Vermilion). A check indicated that Allen was under suspension. Allen was cited for Driving Under Suspension and Red Light.

 

August 13, 2009

 

0830:

Cpl. Gleason met with a complainant on station reference credit card fraud. Under investigation.

 

1246:

Ptl. Stanevich met with a resident on Claus Road for a breaking and entering report. The complainant advised that sometime in the past week his shed was entered but nothing was taken.

 

1309:

Lt. Labis was dispatched to Berkely Road at Thomas Alva Driver reference an attempted assault. Lt. Labis met with the complainant who advised that he was riding his motorcycle on Berkely Road near Aldrich when a car pulled out almost striking his motorcycle. The complainant advised that he and the driver of the car exchanged words and then the driver of the car got out and tried to take a swing at him. The driver then got in his vehicle and drove off. The complainant was referred to the prosecutor for charges.

 

1522:

Ptl. Mis spoke to a complainant reference her ex-boyfriend stealing her money and punching three holes in her living room. The ex-boyfriend left the scene and was unable to be located. The complainant was referred to the prosecutor for charges.

 

August 14, 2009

 

1341:

Lt. Labis met with an employee of the Riddle Funeral Home who works at the Brownhelm Cemetary. The employee noticed damage to a wrought iron fence. Lt. Labis checked the area and it appears that a vehicle struck the corner of the fence.

 

1511:

A manager of a local business stopped on station to report problems with a former employee and requested a report. The complainant stated that she has been receiving threatening text messages from a recently terminated employee. The complainant also stated that the terminated employee showed up to pick up a paycheck and started to argue with her. Another employee was called over to help calm the terminated employee down. Ptl. Mis made contact with the terminated employee and she and her husband were both advised not to return to the business or they will be charged with trespassing.

 

2102:

Ptl. Stark and Ptl. Cundari met with a female complainant reference a problem with her ex-boyfriend. The complainant stated that she recently broke up with her boyfriend and is now scared of him as he has felony warrants for Assault, Domestic Violence, Kidnapping, and Abduction. The warrants were confirmed and the complainant was advised that we could give her residence extra patrol and to call 911 if she sees him in town.

 

August 15, 2009

 

0417:

Ptl. Graham met with a male complainant on station. The complainant advised that he picked up his child for visitation and observed a bruise under the child’s left eye. The complainant was advised a report would be made.

 

1452:

While leaving the station Ptl. Holmes observed a dark green Chrysler 300 traveling westbound on Liberty Avenue. Ptl. Holmes is familiar with the vehicle and the driver, Joseph Biagi (age 24 Vermilion). Ptl. Holmes knew that Biagi had just been arrested on August 3, 2009 for Driving Under Suspension. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver. Biagi was very upset and stated that he was still under suspension and that he needed to drive for work. Ptl. Reising then arrived on scene and took over the investigation and arrest as Ptl. Holmes was detailed to the Marine Patrol Unit. Ptl. Reising found that Biagi had fourteen open suspensions. Biagi was arrested for Driving Under Suspension and placed in the back of car 803. While conducting an inventory of the vehicle a large bag of marijuana was located under the driver side seat. The marijuana weighed 175 grams. Biagi was charged with Trafficking of Marijuana F5, Probation Violation M1, Driving Under Suspension, and Drug Possession. The owner of the vehicle, Alice Biagi (age 59 Lorain) was charged with Wrongful Entrustment.

 

1516:

Dockside Sunoco called to report a drive off and asked that a report be filed. The vehicle involved was unable to be located.  

 

2205:

Ptl. Stark was on patrol in the downtown area. While in the area of the boat club, Ptl. Stark observed a person wearing a duckhead costume jumping around in the front. Ptl. Stark thought that the head looked a lot like the costume for the duck race that the Vermilion Port Authority was having on Sunday. Ptl. Stark met with the dock master and he advised that the costume must have been stolen recently. Ptl. Stark made contact with the subject wearing the costume. The male juvenile subject was transported to the station. On station the dock master and the juvenile came to an agreement that the male juvenile would do two hours of community service on Sunday by wearing the entire duck costume at the duck race. The juvenile was advised that if he did not show up, he would be charged with theft.

 

2255:

Ptl. Holmes was working the OVI check point on Liberty Avenue near Sunnyside Road. Ptl. Holmes observed a vehicle traveling south on Sunnyside Road without a functioning license plate. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Lori Mcvay (age 30 Defiance). Mcvay was found to be under suspension. Mcvay was issued a citation for Driving Under Suspension.

 

2329:

Units were dispatched to Devonshire Road for a large fight. Upon arrival it was learned that several subjects were sitting around a small fire drinking beer, and one subject became highly intoxicated and began to argue with everyone there. The female subject then began to punch people. The female fled when she learned the police were on the way. The female then showed up at the police department and she advised that the people there were grabbing her and started punching her. Due to conflicting reports, they were referred to the prosecutor for charges.

Ptl. Holmes was working the OVI check point on Liberty Avenue near Sunnyside Road. A random license plate check on a vehicle traveling south on Sunnyside Road indicated that the owner was under suspension. Ptl. Holmes observed that the description of the owner appeared to be similar to the current driver. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver/owner was identified as John Harkless (age 30 Lorain). Harkless was cited for Driving Under Suspension and for Seatbelt Violation.

 

0430:

Ptl. Reising and Ptl. Stark were dispatched to the Brownhelm Store reference a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival a vehicle was parked in the middle of the lot running with the headlights on. There was male sitting in the driver’s seat. He appeared to be sleeping. Contact was made with the driver and he was identified as Victor Figueroa (age 32 Chicago). There was also a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from inside of the vehicle. Figueroa admitted to consuming a few alcoholic beverages and also stated that he did not have a driver’s license. Figueroa was then asked to take the standardized field sobriety tests. He agreed. After failing the tests, Figueroa was transported to the station where he submitted to a breath test. Figueroa gave a breath sample reading of .121 grams. Figueroa was cited with Physical Control and No Driver’s License.

 

2114:

Ptl. Cundari was dispatched to the mouth of the Vermilion River in response to three subjects on personal watercrafts who were operating after sunset and without lights.

The subjects were located and identified as Bobby Jenkins Jr (age 33 Elyria), Tara Jenkins (age 31 Elyria), and Daniel Mangan (age 17). Bobby and Tara were cited for Operating a Personal Watercraft between Sunset and Sunrise and Mangan was referred to the Juvenile Court for Operating a Personal Watercraft between Sunset and Sunrise.

Cpl. Riggs met with a complainant on station reference a theft. The female complainant advised she was living with a male on Woodridge and now that she has moved out, he will not give her property back. She was given a citizen complaint packed and referred to the prosecutor.

Ptl. Holmes was dispatched to a Claus Road residence for a report theft and forgery. The complainant advised that a family member stole a couple checks and then forged the checks. The suspect used nineteen checks totaling $2655.78. Under investigation.

Ptl. Spoores observed a Norfolk and Southern train blocking the railroad crossing from Main Street to Adams Street for a period longer than five minutes. The train company was cited for the Obstruction of a Public Street.

Ptl. Jones was dispatched to a residence on Idleview Drive reference a fraud complaint. Ptl. Jones met with the complainant and he advised his credit card was used to purchase items over the phone without his authorization. Under investigation.

 

2027:

While on patrol on Jerusalem Road, Ptl. Holmes ran a random license plate check on a passing vehicle. The vehicle was a red Ford Thunderbird, but the BMV indicated that it was a blue 1994 Ford. Ptl. Holmes turned around and observed the vehicle parked in a driveway and the subject walking towards the front door. Ptl. Holmes made contact with the driver, identified as Kyle Cummings (age 19 Lorain), and advised him for the reason of the traffic stop. Cummings stated that his mother had purchased the vehicle and had not yet transferred the license plates. Cummings also advised that he was under suspension and that he had pulled into the driveway because he observed a patrol car behind him. Cummings was placed under arrest. While doing an inventory on the vehicle, Ptl. Holmes located a metal pipe commonly used to smoke marijuana in the center console. Cummings was arrested for Driving Under Suspension, Drug Paraphernalia, Ficticious Plates, and Criminal Trespass.

Ptl. Holmes conducted a traffic stop on Liberty Avenue near Key Bank. The driver, Jordan Khoury (age 25 Vermilion) was found to be under suspension. Khoury was issued a citation for Driving Under Suspension and given a verbal warning for expired plates and an expired license.

Sgt. Davis met with a complainant regarding a complaint of verbal threats. The suspect was contacted and denied making any type of treat. The complainant was referred to the prosecutor for charges.

Ptl. Graham was dispatched to Drug Mart reference a theft. Upon arrival Ptl. Graham was advised by security that a male was observed removing a label from a powerade drink and then placing the item down his pants. The suspect was also seen placing two packs of sausage down his pants. The suspect then exited the store without paying for the items. Ptl. Graham met with the suspect, Mark Bowles (age 55 Lorain), and he admitted to taking the items. Bowles was charged for Theft.

Ptl. Howell was dispatched to a residence on Claus Road reference harassing phone calls. The complainant requested a police report but did not want any further investigation.

Units were dispatched to a residence on Hazelwood Avenue reference a mental issue. The male subject in question was transported to the hospital for an evaluation per the Nord Center.

The Erie County Sheriffs Department requested back up for a burglary alarm at the Get Go station on SR 60. Upon arrival, Sgt. Hartung observed the front door glass panel removed from the frame. Cpl. Grassnig was contacted for a K9 track. The scene was secured until deputies arrived.

 

1510:

Ptl. Graham, Cpl. Mayer, and Ptl. Mis were dispatched to Altamont reference domestic violence. Upon arrival, Ptl. Graham was advised by the victim (age 12) that she and her brother Corey Chaney (age 15 Vermilion) were arguing over a phone when Corey grabbed her by the neck and punched her in the stomach. Corey admitted to punching the victim, but stated that the victim kicked him. Corey was charged with Domestic Violence and taken to the Lorain County Detention Home.

 

1657:

While on patrol, Cpl. Mayer observed a black Ford Focus traveling eastbound on Liberty Avenue near Helen Drive. The vehicle was clocked on radar at 63mph. Cpl. Mayer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the car accelerated at a high rated of speed. Cpl. Mayer followed the vehicle into Lorain at speeds in excess of 90mph. The pursuit discontinued when the vehicle turned off West Erie Road onto West 21 Street. A short time later, the Lorain Police Department advised that a car wrecked in the area of 21st and Reeves Avenue. Chief Kish and Cpl. Mayer went to the scene of the crash where the vehicle was found smashed up against a tree. The passenger of the vehicle, Daniel Emerick, told Cpl. Mayer that the drive was Travis Cardinal and that he told him several times to stop the car. Emerick also said that they were at a funeral in Vermilion and consumed several alcoholic beverages. Cardinal was taken to the hospital and will be charged with Speed and felony Fleeing.

 

2016:

Ptl. Graham was dispatched to 300 Salem Driver reference a male taking pictures of two juveniles from the bushes. Officers were unable to locate any suspects.

 

August 21, 2009

 

0012:

While on patrol on Delamere Road, Ptl. Howell observed two subjects walking in the street. Ptl. Howell recognized both subjects as Kylee Lowder (age 21 Vermilion) and Jeff Hamilton (age 27 Vermilion). Ptl. Howell also knew that both subjects were on probation with the Vermilion Municipal Court. While speaking to the subjects, Ptl. Howell observed an opened can of beer partially concealed in Hamilton’s back pants pocket. Also located on Hamilton was two small bags of marijuana. While conducting a search of Lowder, Ptl. Cundari found a pack of rolling papers in her purse. Lowder was advised to contact the probation officer regarding this incident and was released on scene. Hamilton was charged with Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana, and Open Container.

Ptl. Cundari met with several subjects on station regarding a civil matter. The subjects wanted to make the police department aware of their current situation incase there are any future incidents.

 

0319:

All units were dispatched to the area of Vermilion Road and Liberty Avenue in response to a robbery and an assault that had just occurred. Ptl. Cundari made contact with the victim who stated that he was walking down the alley behind Alco that leads to Vermilion Road when a yellow vehicle pulled up behind him with four males inside. The males started to harass the victim and then three of the four males got out of the vehicle and started punching the victim in the head until he was knocked out. The males then took the victim’s backpack, got into the vehicle, and fled the scene. Units searched the area for the suspect’s vehicle with no success. The victim was checked out at the scene by the ambulance and refused further medical treatment.

 

0721:

Ptl. Jones was dispatched to 320 Salem Drive reference vandalism to a vehicle. Ptl. Jones met with the complainant who advised that some time during the night someone poured sugar in the fuel filler neck. It is unknown how much sugar entered the gas tank. The complainant’s left rear tire was also flat. Under investigation.

 

1408:

Dispatch received multiple calls reporting a house fire at 820 Vermilion Road. The Vermilion Fire Department was toned out and advised.

 

1910:

Units were dispatched to the Vol neighborhood for a report of a reckless operator in the area. Ptl. Holmes located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The driver was identified as Anthony Rizzo (age 16 Amherst). Rizzo advised Ptl. Holmes that he did not have a driver’s license. Rizzo was asked to exit the vehicle and was handcuffed and searched. While searching Rizzo, Ptl. Holmes located a large fish filleting knife with a fixed blade measuring approximately six inches. Also located in his pocket was a large folding pocket knife. Rizzo stated that he was carrying the knives for protection. Rizzo was charged with No Operator’s License and was released to his mother. Rizzo and his mother were strongly advised on the law regarding the carrying of concealed weapons.

 

2141:

Ptl. Spoores was on patrol on Main Street and observed a black vehicle stopped at the intersection with loud blaring music. Ptl. Spoores followed the vehicle west on Liberty Avenue and was able to hear the radio the entire time. Ptl. Spoores also paced the vehicle and did observe that it was traveling at 35mph. A traffic stop was initiated and the subject pulled over in Huggy’s parking lot. While in the parking lot, the driver pulled her vehicle forward and came close to striking another vehicle and then began back up and only stopped after Ptl. Spoores yelled at her. The driver missed hitting the cruiser by no more than three inches. The driver was identified as Denise Owens (age 45 Vermilion). While speaking to Owens, Ptl. Spoores was able to detect the odor of an alcoholic beverage from her person. Owens was given the field sobriety tests and base on the result, arrested for OVI and taken to the station for booking. On station, Owens gave a breath sample of .066 grams. Owens was given a courtesy ride home.

Ptl. Spoores and Ptl. Shupe were dispatched to Nakomis Beach in reference to a group of subjects on the beach. Upon arrival several subjects were hanging out on the beach drinking. Two of the subjects were found to be under the age of 21. Brittney Mozena (age 20 Elyria) and Joshua Jacobs (age 19 Lorain) were charged with Underage Consumption. 

 

1237:

Units were dispatched to the VOL bridge reference an injured bicyclist. It was initially thought that the subject was struck by a passing motor vehicle but was later confirmed that the subject lost control of her bicycle and fell. The subject was transported to the hospital and later released to family members.

 

1732:

Ptl. Jones was dispatched to a residence on Morton Road for an animal complaint. Once on scene, Ptl. Jones observed five kittens in a cage that were possibly dead. Two were laying on their side and appeared to be extremely sick and were suffering. The other three kittens were shivering due to being wet and cold from the rain. Erie Shores Humane Society was contacted and later took the kittens into custodial care. The owner of the residence Monica Hilmer (age 52 Vermilion) was charged with Cruelty to Animals.

 

1803:

Sgt. Adams met with several subjects on station reference a welfare check and psychiatric situation. All parties were advised that a report would be on file and the subjects family doctor was notified.

 

August 23, 2009

 

0118:

Ptl. Spoores conducted a traffic stop at Lakeside Plaza and advised the driver he was being stopped for not having a illuminated license plate. The driver was identified as Brian White (age 21 New London). While searching the vehicle, Ptl. Spoores found several small flakes of marijuana scattered around the passenger area and also found several marijuana seeds. Also, located inside was a small digital scale with marijuana. White was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia.

 

1720:

Ptl. Riggs spoke to a subject reference vandalism to his property. The complainant said that he is having problems with someone stealing and damaging his realty signs. He was advised officer would give the area extra patrol.

 

1923:

While on patrol on SR 2, Ptl. Holmes observed a vehicle traveling northbound on Brill Tansey that was being driven by Darryl Pilarsh (age 33 Vermilion). Ptl. Holmes is familiar with Pilarsh and requested a driving status check through dispatch. Pilarsh was found to be under suspension. A traffic stop was initiated and Pilarsh was cited for Driving Under Suspension (3rd offense in the past 1 year).

1144:

Ptl. Graham was dispatched to Main Street Beach reference a dog bite. The complainant said that he observed a subject on the beach with two dogs on a leash and asked if they were mean. The owner of the dogs told the complainant that the dogs were nice. The complainant then stated that he was bitten on his left arm. Ptl. Graham spoke to the owner of the dogs and he said that the complainant tried to pet the dog from behind.

 

1734:

Ptl. Reising was dispatched to Huggy’s to meet with a complainant reference a road rage complaint. The complainant said that she was driving on Park Drive to drop her son off when she came up to two subjects on their bicycles. The subjects were in the middle of the road and split up when the complainant’s vehicle drove past. The complainant dropped off her child and as she was coming back out of the street, the male subjects were in the road again. As the complainant passed them, one male yelled at her and told her that she did not have any business down here. The female told him “bite me”. Both subjects were advised that a report would be on file.

 

1922:

Ptl. Cundari was dispatched to Morton Road in response to a neighbor dispute. After speaking with all of the involved parties, one neighbor was neighbor was warned about trespassing.

 

2056:

Ptl. Howell was dispatched to Haber Road reference complaints of subjects loitering on the street and causing a disturbance. Upon arrival, Ptl. Howell observed several subjects walking and one male riding a bicycle in the roadway. Ptl. Howell made contact with the subjects and observed that one male, identified as Nicholas Kotab (age 18 Vermilion), had a black holster like object strapped around his right leg below his knee. The item was subsequently identified as a black plastic ankle sheath containing a Ka-bar TDI law enforcement knife. The knife is classified for military and tactical use. While checking the other male subjects, Ptl. Cundari located a pack of tobacco pouches and a pack of cigarettes. These items were found in the possession of Christian Gulish (age 17 Vermilion). Kotab was charged with Carrying Concealed Weapons and Gulish was charged with Possession of Tobacco Products.

 

August 25, 2009

 

0634:

Ptl. Cundari and Ptl. Howell were dispatched to the Bridgeport Apartments in response to a psychiatric incident. Upon arrival, contact was made with the complainant who advised that her daughter (age 19) has not been herself lately and took off from the residence and is worried for her safety. Officers searched the area with no success. The female then returned home and engaged in a verbal altercation with her mother. During the verbal altercation, the female attempted to grab the car keys and leave the scene. The mother was able to wrestle her daughter in order to get the keys back. After speaking with the mother and daughter, it was determined that the daughter’s and other’s safety were at risk. The female agreed to go to the Nord Center voluntarily for an evaluation.

 

0758:

Lorain County Children Services notified this department that they are investigation a possible sex offense involving a juvenile victim. A joint interview will be conducted with the child and the Nord Center.

 

August 26, 2009

 

2108:

Units were dispatched to a residence on Ohio Street reference an unruly juvenile threatening suicide. Once on scene, Ptl. Spoores was informed by the juveniles step father that his step son, Jacob Johnson (age 15 Vermilion) was acting very strange since he came home. When Johnson was confronted about his actions, he became extremely emotional and began making vague threats of suicide. Johnson stated that he should have finished it the other day and then pulled up his sleeve on his right arm and showed his previous attempts. Several light cuts were observed. The complainant also stated that Johnson gets in his mother’s face and cusses her out and calls her filthy names. Johnson’s mother is afraid that he is going to beat her up. Johnson was charged with being Unruly and was transported to the hospital for a physiological evaluation. After the evaluation, Johnson was transported to the Erie County Detention Home based on his new charge and the fact that he is on probation.

 

2233:

Units were dispatched to the area of Liberty Avenue and South Shore Plaza for the report of a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, Ptl. Holmes observed a black truck stopped at the red light and a Navigator that had gone left of center and struck the rear and left side of the stopped truck. The driver of the Navigator, Timothy Downing (age Michigan) was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Downing was given the standardized field sobriety tests and did not pass. He was then taken to the station where he submitted to a breath test in which he gave a reading of .161 grams. Downing was also found to be under a license suspension. Downing was charged with OVI, Driving Under Suspension, and Assured Clear Distance.

 

August 27, 2009

 

0318:

Ptl. Shupe and Ptl. Spoores were dispatched to a residence on Liberty Avenue reference a Burglary where several items were stolen. Under investigation.

 

1037: 

Lt. Labis was dispatched to Nautical Drive for damaged property. Upon arrival, the complainant showed Lt. Labis his mailbox that had been knocked over. Lt. Labis observed that there was some white paint transfer on the brick base. Lt. Labis remembered reading a report from August 26th in which there was an OVI arrest involving a white vehicle. The driver of that vehicle had also been staying on Nautical Drive. The vehicle was located and there were scrape marks to the bottom front left fender area that matched the damage to the mailbox with the same color transfer. The owner of the vehicle, Timothy Downing, was located and asked about the mailbox damage. Downing said that he did not recall what happened last night but did admit to hitting the mailbox. Downing was charged with Reasonable Control and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.

Sgt. Davis met with employees of Satellite Electric regarding a vehicle entry. The vehicle was dusted for prints and the video surveillance was reviewed. Under investigation.

A bicycle was located on Douglas Street. The bicycle is a pink Roadmaster MC Sportssx. The bicycle was taken to storage.

 

1247:

While driving on Liberty Avenue, Ptl. Reising observed a vehicle driven by Tristan Flynn (age 19 Vermilion) heading eastbound. Earlier in the shift, Ptl. Reising was advised that Flynn was under suspension. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was arrested for Driving Under Suspension.

 

1338:

Cpl. Gleason met with a complainant on station reference harassment. The complainant stated that she is receiving harassing letters in the mail directed towards her daughter. The complainant said that the subject writing the letters has mental issues and will not stop writing her. Cpl. Gleason contacted the suspect and he was advised to stop writing the letters. The complainant was advised to contact this department if they continue.

 

1846:

Cpl. Jones was dispatched to Aldrich Road reference a Burglary. Once on scene, Ptl. Jones met with the complainant who advised that while she was gone her home was broken into. Under investigation.

 

2132:

Ptl. Glover was dispatched to a residence on Birchview Drive reference a snake on the loose in the house. Upon arrival, Ptl. Glover spoke with the complainant who stated that her estranged husband sent a snake in the mail from Alaska. The snake was an albino Texas rat snake. The snake was a pet that her children had when they lived in Alaska, but she did not expect it to be sent through the mail.

Cpl. Mayer was dispatched to a residence on Sanford Street to assist Children’s Services in reference to a possible child abuse case. Under investigation.

Ptl. Graham was dispatched to the Lions Shed on Nicholson reference a breaking and entering. Under investigation

 

1824:

Chief Kish investigated a case involving an alleged threat made over the phone. The suspect was interview and advised further threats could result in a criminal prosecution.

1928:

Sgt. Hartung received a report from an anonymous caller reporting a possible sex offense involving a juvenile. A report was taken and the juvenile officer was advised.

 

2045:

Ptl. Howell observed a vehicle in the area of Edgewater Drive and Cummings Road operating with no tail lights at night. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver, Christopher Adams (age 34 Vermilion), was found to be under twenty-six open suspensions. Adams was charged with Driving Under Suspension and Tail Light required.

 

2118:

Ptl. Cundari was dispatched to a residence on Edgewater Drive in response to an unwanted guest. Upon arrival, Ptl. Cundari spoke to the complainant who advised that she and her son, Gerald Boger Jr (age 40 Vermilion), had an agreement that he could stay in her garage as long as he was sober. The complainant advised that Boger came home and was intoxicated, therefore she did not let him in. The complainant stated that Boger slid a plastic CVS card through the door jamb and gained entry to the garage and began to bang on the door that leads into the house. Boger then left the scene after being told that the police were on their way. While officers were checking the area, Boger back up at the residence and attempted to gain entry for a second time. Boger also began to harass the complainant and bang on the door. Officers came back to the residence and located Boger in the garage. Boger was highly intoxicated and was confused why officers were there. Boger was charged with Probation Violation, Criminal Trespass, and Disorderly Conduct/Intox. Boger was transported to the Lorain County Jail.

0120:

Ptl. Howell and Ptl. Cundari responded to Quaker Steak and Lube for a report of two subjects causing a disturbance. Upon arrival, two male subjects were observed departing the dock in a small gray inflatable watercraft. Quaker Steak employees confirmed that they were the two involved in the disturbance and said that they had challenged them to fight at Valley Harbor Marina. Ptl. Howell began to run after the boat and yelled for the subjects to stop several times. The two subjects ignored Ptl. Howell and continued south bound on the river. The two males Joshua Gilles (age 28 Amherst) and Joshua Jacobs (age 19 Vermilion) were later located at the Valley Harbor Marina. Both subjects had an odor of alcoholic beverage coming from about their person. Gilles was charged with Operating a Watercraft while Intoxicated, Implied Consent, Criminal Trespass, Wake Violation, Unsafe Operation – Navigational Lights required, and Personal Floatation Devices required. Jacobs was charged with Underage Consumption and Probation Violation.

Ptl. Howell ran a driver’s license check and found that a vehicle passing him in the area of Liberty Avenue and Berkely Avenue revealed that the owner was under suspension. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver, Alex Horning (age 24 Vermilion) was charged with Driving Under Suspension.

 

1103:

Units were dispatched to the area of Whispering Shore in reference to a female laying in the road. Units arrived and determined that she was suffering from a mental condition. Her husband was contacted and arrived on scene to transport her for medial care.

 

1338:

BP called to report that a female just came into the store and attempted to pass a suspected counterfeit ten dollar bill. Under investigation.

Ptl. Cundari was dispatched to a residence on Pineview Drive in response to property disposal and a civil complaint. The complainant was upset because her soon to be ex husband came over with a couple people to retrieve some of his belongings. The complainant said that he was supposed to show up alone.

Ptl. Howell received a report from an employee at Mcdonalds about a female subject behaving strangely. Ptl. Howell approached the vehicle and observed the female subject in the back seat. The female subject was identified as Tabitha Ridener (age 17 Vermilion). While speaking to her, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was on her breath. Ridener submitted to a portable breath test giving a .217 reading. Ridener was charged with Underage Consumption.

 

0726:

Ptl. Terry was dispatched to the Fishing Pier regarding an air conditioner that was pulled or dropped out of a window. Ptl. Terry observed the unit hanging from the front window and observed that the register was in the open position and that the cash drawer was out of position. The owner of the business was contacted and found that a prescription was missing from inside the business. Under investigation.

Ptl. Terry was dispatched to Captain’s Corner charter boat dock regarding a complaint of a broken windshield on a boat. The complainant stated that a rock was thrown at the window causing it to shatter. Ptl. Terry observed the rock and the shattered glass. Under investigation.

 

1540:

Ptl. Mis met with an employee at Remington Towing reference a breaking and entering. The complainant advised that someone took some change that was located under a counter. Under investigation.

Ptl. Howell observed a female who appeared to be under the age of eighteen, riding a bicycle on the sidewalk near Elberta Inn. The female was identified as Erica Morris (age 17 Vermilion) and was charged with Curfew Violation.

Cpl. Riggs took a report for an attempted breaking and entering at Suburban Process Piping. Under investigation.

 

1211:

Cpl. Riggs met with a complainant at Huggy’s who advised that the lagoons were having their land surveyed using his property to conduct the survey. Huggy’s feels that the company was trespassing. Cpl. Riggs observed two areas where the ground had been spray painted. The business owner will be in touch with the surveying company.

 

1320:

Ptl. Jones spoke with a subject on the phone reference her camera being stolen. The complainant advised she lent it to her granddaughter and that she has no intention of returning it. Under investigation.

 

1329:

Sgt. Adams met with a resident on Mornington Road reference vandalism. This officer observed that his fence was spray painted in green paint. The complainant was advised that officers would give the area extra patrol.

 

1554:

Cpl. Riggs met a resident on Guilford Road reference vandalism. This officer observed that his shed was spray painted in green paint. The complainant was advised that officers would give the area extra patrol.

 

1603:

This officer spoke with Mindi Robertson who advised that her son was assaulted on the school bus. Robertson said that her child was grabbed and punched in the left shoulder causing it to bruise and left fresh red marks. The marks were observed by Ptl. Jones. Ptl. Jones made contact with the suspect’s father and he was advised to tell his son to keep his hands to himself.
